Campbeltown's commemoration of the Battle of Loos took place on Saturday 26th September.
P6 and P7's very creative project work formed part of the excellent display in the Victoria Hall. The pupils in the two classes can feel very proud of the work they produced, which was very much appreciated by members of the community. The work showed real knowledge, creativity and interest in the project. Thanks to Mrs Watson and Mrs MacKay and to you for supporting your children, particularly in their homework tasks. P6 and P7 parents and carers will have the opportunity to see the work on display again in the Gym Hall on Friday 5th October between 1.30 and 2.00 pm.
MacMillan Cancer Charity Cake Stall and Café
On Friday morning the P2/3 and P3 classrooms were very busy places as the two classes held their MacMillan fundraising event. Each class in the school took turns to visit P2/3’s cake stall and P3’s café to buy juice, cakes and biscuits, while pupils from the two classes had responsibility for serving the rest of the school. The total raised was an amazing £401! Thanks to the two classes and Mrs Hill and Mrs Hurd for organising the event.
Castlehill Folk Group
Well done to the Castlehill Folk Group, who performed in the Music Festival in June and who were then asked to perform on the first Thursday evening of the new term at the Young Folk Night, part of the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival.
Active Schools are continuing to provide a range of activities for the school this year. P5 have been enjoying a series of three weekly Badminton lessons with Miss Littleson at the Victoria Hall.
Also through Active Schools, Campbeltown Grammar School Young Leaders will be offering a series of four weekly after-school sports sessions for P3 after the October holiday. More details will follow separately for parents / carers of P3 pupils soon.
All of our children are now taking part in a Daily Mile activity with their class teacher. Children are able to walk, jog or run up to a mile each day in the school grounds. Children should have appropriate footwear to use each day so that they can take part.
Three chilled water dispensers have been installed in the school over the summer. We recommend that all pupils have their own water bottle in school and request that children do not have flavoured drinks for lesson times.
