P7 Broadcast from Argyll FM
P7 recently did some research on the history of the Bunkhouse. They inverviewed local historians and business men and recorded these interviews at Argyll FM. This programme will now be aired on Saturday 22nd March at 4pm and Tuesday 25th March at 8pm.
Please try and tune in to listen to their programme and to hear which songs they selected to go with each interview.
P7 would like to thank everyone who helped them with this project.
Our Spring Concert will be held in the school on the evenings of Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd April commencing at 7.30 pm. Doors will open from 7 pm. Tickets (priced £3) are on sale at the school. Pupils wishing to purchase tickets should bring money in a sealed envelope with their name, class and number of tickets required and for which evening clearly stated on the front. There will be no charge for pre-school children, provided they are sitting on their parent’s knee.
In order to comply with fire regulations, pupils will not be allowed back into the hall after their performance but will return to their classrooms where they will be supervised by school staff.
Parents not attending the concert will be able to collect their children from the classrooms after their part in the show: pupils in P1, P2 and P3 at 8.15 pm approximately, and P4, and P5 pupils at 9.00 pm approximately. Senior classes will be dismissed at the end of the show.
We would like to ask all parents who are attending the concert to remain in the audience until the end of the performance to avoid distraction to the performing classes.
Donations of items for the raffle/hampers would also be greatly appreciated and can be handed in to the school.
A reminder that the sale of school uniforms will be transferring to Wee Toon Sports for the next school session, 2014/15. The sweatshirts will be available prior to the start of the session. The new sweatshirts will have an embroidered logo and will therefore be more expensive than the sweatshirts currently on sale from school.
In the meantime we have a stock of sweatshirts, with the printed logo, available for sale from school. They will now be sold at a reduced rate of £2 off their normal sale price. Children will continue to be allowed to wear the printed logo sweatshirts during the 2014/15 session.
Roman Catholic Religious Education
There is a provision for Roman Catholic Religious Education for pupils in the school, which involves teaching children the basics of the religion and preparing them for the Sacraments when appropriate. If you wish your child to take part and he/she is not already doing so, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Long.
End of Term Service
Parents and friends are invited to join us for the end of term service which will be held in the Lorne and Lowland Church on Friday 4th April at 2 pm. After the service the children will return to school. To ensure the safe collection of the children at the end of the day, they will be dismissed as on normal school days at 3.15 pm into the front playground.
School will re-open after the Easter holiday on Tuesday 22nd April.
