Cauliflower Cards

£322 was raised this year through the designing by pupils and selling of their Cauliflower Christmas Cards. Thanks to the PTA, the School Office and teachers for managing the organisation of this fundraiser.

Children in Need

Shortly before the start of the Christmas period, the school’s contribution to Children in Need was in the form of a Talent show and Bring and Buy Sale.  An excellent £764 was raised in one day from the two activities.

Well done to the Choir for their singing during December.  The whole or parts of the choir performed on several occasions: at our Christmas Concert, at the Town Carol Service, at the Music Club Christmas Concert, for residents at Kintyre Nursing Home and at Auchinlee, and for pupils and kitchen staff during a school lunchtime.

Christmas Craft Fayre

There were excellent performances by many pupils at the Christmas Concert in the Gym Hall and all of the classes were involved in preparing for the Craft Fayre by making Christmas crafts which were sold on the afternoon of the concert to parents and families and on the following morning (very quickly) to pupils. An amazing total of £1572 was raised. The funds were split equally (£776 each) between our school funds and the Rotary Club's Purple4polio initiative which is contributing to the eradication of polio across the world. Members of the Rotary Club came into school to collect the cheque at a school assembly.

P6 & P7 Carol Singing

P6 and P7 would like to give a huge thank you to all the parents and members of staff who joined them for their Carol Singing, which took place just before Christmas.   Enormous fun was had by all and, by the end of the two nights, a total of £228 had been raised.  Their thanks also goes to the Co-op and Tesco for allowing them to perform at their premises and hopefully not scare away too many of their customers!   The money raised will now go towards the P7 school trips which will take place in the summer term.   Many thanks again, to everyone involved.

P1 and 2 Nativity

P1 and 2 pupils clearly enjoyed performing in their Nativity play for parents and families. Thanks go to teachers and staff for the hard work and preparation that goes into making the performance possible.  £170 was raised for school funds at the silver collection on the door.

I would like to thank everyone for their support at Castlehill events in the period leading up to Christmas. It is always a very busy time for the children and staff.  As well as giving the children the chance to experience and enjoy different activities and skills, a number of events were also very successful in raising funds both for the school and for charities.
