August 2016

I hope your children have settled in well to the new school year.  If you do require any information from school or have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Parent Council and Parent Teacher Association

We have decided to hold a joint Parent Council and Parent Teacher Association meeting at the start of this school session.  The meeting will be in school on Monday 19th September at 7.00 pm.  New members of both committees are very welcome.  If you are interested in being involved in representing the views of parents or in fundraising for the school, please come along on the 19th.  If you need any more information before the meeting, please contact me.

Rewiring

The school building was successfully rewired during the school holidays.  The contractors worked very hard to complete the job in the holiday period and staff have had a very busy time reorganising and preparing classrooms in the first weeks of the term.

Flu Immunisation

Flu Immunisation is again being offered this term to all primary school children in Scotland by NHS Scotland.  You will have already received a consent pack.  Please ensure you have returned the completed consent form for your child to school.

Calendar of Events

A calendar of events for this school can be found here.  The dates for events later in the year are provisional.  Where significant changes to times and dates are made, we will contact you in advance.

Kind regards,

Richard Long

Head Teacher

Roman Catholic Education

Mrs Mary Watson will be continuing to provide Roman Catholic Education for all children of the Catholic Faith.  Please read her letter, and complete and return the slip at the bottom of the letter if you wish your child to take part in her lessons.

Nut Allergy

We have pupils who have a nut allergy and a sesame seed allergy in school.  The school has protocols for managing the risk to children who have allergies, but I would be grateful if you could bear this in mind when preparing packed lunches and snacks.
